The Anoushka Jacket is named after musician Anoushka Shankar, a British Indian sitar composer and player. Kanthas are quilts traditionally from the Bengali region made from old saris or other discarded cloth with a running stitch. Every piece is unique. These jackets are reversible and have unisex sizing. This oversized kimono style jacket has large pockets (for all important things like snacks, lip balm, a phone, and even a wallet). Jackets shown are sold pieces that show the same style.
Vintage cotton kantha quilt sourced from India. There may be stains, small holes or other imperfections in the jacket. We consider it to be part of the story of the jacket and embrace it’s history.
Fabric is pre-washed. Machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Line dry and warm iron as needed.
Sizing: Please note that if you have previously purchased a jacket from us before, the pattern and sizing has been updated. Sizes are unisex. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email email@example.com for assistance.
For example, if you normally wear a women’s S dress, you would wear the XS jacket for normal oversized fit. This is just a guide, there are lots of customers who are S and buy XL jackets! See size chart for measurements. It’s a matter of preference.
Please write the following in the notes as you check out: length, size, main side, ig handle if you'd like to be tagged.
*Please note that this quilt is large enough for an up to XL size medium length jacket with sleeves. If you are a smaller size and want us to check if the blanket is long enough for a longer length, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask us to check.
If you have a preference as to which side you’d like to be the “main” side (with the pockets), please let us know in the notes. Otherwise, we will choose a side for you.
If you’d like us to tag you in our Instagram page when your jacket is complete, please leave your handle after you make all your style choices.
Our Find Your Match program has a new sewing schedule and we’ll now be dropping off the blankets to be sewn twice a month. What does this mean for you? If you order a jacket between the 31st - 15th of the month, your jacket will be made within 4-6 weeks of the 15th. If you order between the 16th and the 30th, your jacket will be made within 4-6 weeks of the 30th. Please understand that if any unexpected issues arise it may take longer and we will be in touch.
