The Anoushka Jacket is named after musician Anoushka Shankar, a British Indian sitar composer and player. Shankar is the half-sister of Norah Jones, one of our other heroines behind our Norah jackets. Anoushka was born in London and began her music career in New Delhi with her father, the famed Ravi Shankar. Anoushka Shankar is a confident woman who inspires us to embrace and connect with our traditional roots.
Kanthas are quilts traditionally from the Bengali region made from old saris or other discarded cloth with a running stitch. Every piece is unique, made for you to experience maximum comfort. They may contain naturally distressed fabric, holes or patches. It is part of their character and charm. These jackets are reversible and have gender neutral sizing with a silhouette inspired by trendy yet traditional asian street style. This oversized kimono style jacket has large pockets (for all important things like snacks, lip balm, a phone, and even a wallet).
