Junko::marimekko designed by Otto Finn in collaboration with modern pattern/britt reilly, integrates original vintage marimekko textile fragments salvaged from Environment II, an international design concept shop + workshop opened in 1969 in Pittsburgh by Jacquelyn Fowlkes, interior stylist & modernist maven. Since marimekko's emergence from Helsinki in 1951 as a textile enterprise and design house founded by visionary Armi Ratia, the brand's essence has been its custom-designed, hand-printed patterns and colorful apparel that can be utilized by anyone, in any form they fancy.
Transcending trend and molded templates to embrace make it-your-own concepts and everyday beauty - Otto Finn radiates kindred vibrations and was the natural fit for reimagining and finding a new 'home' for a set of previously-loved marimekko fragments with a particularly Pittsburgh past - that home is the Junko pant. The Junko pants are all one of a kind and have enormous side pockets and roll up hems made from remnant fabrics. They are a drop crotch pant and are roomy for all the dance floors or bedroom floors you dance in. You'll live in them :)
